What are Renova CBD capsules?

Renova CBD capsules contain full-spectrum hemp extract in a base oil, with a fixed amount of CBD per capsule, so there is nothing to measure. The form and taste of each variant are being verified against the label. New to the subject? Start with the CBD overview.

Which capsule variants are there?

There are four: the 15 mg (successor to the 10 mg, on olive oil), the 25 mg (on MCT oil), the capsules with turmeric (25 mg of CBD plus 10 mg of turmeric) and the 40% softgels (65 mg of CBD per capsule, also containing CBG, CBC and CBN). The table above puts them side by side.

What about the capsules with melatonin?

They exist, and they have their own laboratory report: the quality report for the capsules with melatonin (in Dutch). Beyond that there is little we can say, and we won't pretend otherwise. There has never been a product page for them, so the amount of CBD, the amount of melatonin, the ingredient list and the pack contents aren't recorded anywhere we can access. The report's file name mentions 25 mg, but a file name is not a label.

As soon as we have the label in front of us, this variant gets the same treatment as the rest: its own page with specifications from the database. We say nothing here about what melatonin does; that falls under the rules on claims, and we stick to them.

How much CBD is in each capsule and each pack?

From 15 mg to 65 mg per capsule; a pack holds 30 where that has been confirmed. Always compare capsules by mg per piece, not by percentage; the calculation page explains why.

Are the capsules vegan?

No, and we would rather be upfront about it: for all four variants the label confirms that the shell is made of bovine gelatine. So the capsules are neither vegan nor vegetarian. If you want a plant-based option, take a look at the CBD oils.

How to take them

You swallow a capsule with water, like any other supplement. How many a day the label allows differs per variant, and that amount is a maximum. We don't give dosage advice of our own.

The big difference from oil is convenience: you taste nothing and there is nothing to count. Keep the jar cool, dry and dark, out of the reach of children. The best-before date is on the pack.

How are capsules checked?

Every batch is tested externally for cannabinoids and THC. The results are listed by batch number in the quality reports.

How do capsules differ from CBD oil?
