Carrier oils: the quiet base of every product.
Quality & science
CBD extract is thick and concentrated; a carrier oil makes it possible to measure and determines the taste. Renova uses three carriers. Here you can read what they do and which product has which base, without health promises.

What is a carrier oil?
A carrier oil is the plant oil in which the CBD extract is dissolved. The carrier makes sure you get an even amount of CBD per drop or capsule, and it largely determines the taste. The carrier itself contains no CBD.
Renova's three carriers
| Carrier | Characteristic | Used in |
|---|---|---|
| Olive oil | A familiar food oil with its own slightly fruity taste | All CBD oils, 15 mg capsules |
| MCT oil | Almost tasteless and thin | 25 mg and turmeric capsules |
| Hemp seed oil | Pressed from hemp seeds; herbal, green taste | 40% softgels |
MCT stands for medium-chain triglycerides. The name refers to the length of the fatty acid chains in the oil; it is made from coconut or palm kernel oil. Hemp seed oil comes from the seeds of the same plant as the extract, but contains no significant CBD itself; that difference is explained under hemp and cannabis.
One base for the whole oil line
All Renova CBD oils use olive oil, from 3% to 16%. That way the taste doesn't jump between strengths: the difference you taste comes from the amount of hemp extract, not from a different base. Olive oil is also the carrier in the 15 mg capsules; the 25 mg and the turmeric variant use MCT, and the 40% softgels hemp seed oil.
Does the carrier affect how it works?
We make no statements about that. Claims about weight loss, appetite, memory or skin that you read elsewhere about these oils are health claims that may not be made without approval. What the carrier demonstrably does: determine the taste, the texture and the shelf life of the product.
Allergens and specifications
For each product, the full ingredient list is in the specification table, including allergenic ingredients such as the almond oil in the massage oil. See the details per variant under the oils and the capsules, or the complete framework in the quality overview.
